COPPERAS COVE - At its regular June meeting, the Copperas Cove ISD Board of Trustees recognized several student groups for their achievements.
The Martin Walker Elementary Student Council was recognized for earning the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association Student Leadership Award in the 2023-24 school year.
Fifth-grade students Fernanda Jimenez Cordero and Maria Lamb were recognized for earning high school credit in Languages other than English. These students met the standard in Spanish on a Credit by Exam test, passing with an 80% or higher.
Several Members of the Copperas Cove High School band were recognized who qualified for the UIL State Solo & Ensemble Contest in Austin.

The Copperas Cove High School cheer team was recognized or advancing to the finals in the UIL Class 6A Division II State Spirit Championships.
The Copperas Cove High School Copperettes dance team was recognized for competing at the national championships this year.
Students who graduated in the top 10 of the 2024 class from Copperas Cove High School were recognized, as well.
The final group of students recognized were the 16 students who graduated from Central Texas College in the spring semester with either their associate degree or a certification through the district's dual credit program.
